Georgetown half day trip on 12.03.2014 with groupmates



 Happiness project for Georgetown started!!!

 12.03.2014 - Discovering Georgetown area 2 (from Love Lane - Chulia Street - Jalan Masjid Kapitan Keling) in Group 2 

When we reach there,our lecturer had given us a task.There will be three check point for each group and each of us have to collect at least three signatures from our tutor.The location of the check points for our group is Gusto, Cafe 55 and Kaffa cafe.

Before we move on to the 1st check point,me and Mandy had made a short interview with this aunty who sell chicken rice for three years at Beach Street.She told us that the safety and security around Beach Street is not that good.This is because along Beach Street have a lot of banks and the people are not that aware to their own safety.She told us if the level of safeness can be increased then our Georgetown city will be happier.

Our group leader Zoul Akman had made a short interview with this uncle .He told us the Georgetown city now is happy compared to ten years back because the economic had become better and his income had increase as well.But,if Georgetown city can attract more people come and visit then it will be more better.

An uncle that is repairing the shoes infront of other people shop lot and did not wanted to made any interview with us.

Check point 1 - Gusto cafe
After we had walk for many lorong, finally we found out Gusto cafe as the map given had shown us the wrong direction but we stil manage to found out the location in time.We get our 1st signature from Ms. Vivian.

Before heading to the next check point,we decide to buy some drinks in this terrible hot whether and this fruit stall had attracted us.
A very kind and happy uncle who selling local fruits and fruits juice together with his son for almost 35 years.We had make a short interview with him.He said that he likes his work very much and feeling happy everday because he likes our Malaysia local fruits and its good for health.The prices for the fruits and juices are quite cheap and yet its still taste good!



Next,we going to our 2nd check point- Cafe 55. On the way to Cafe 55, there is a Gold Cup Mahjong shop with a quite interesting shop plate.


A plant that decorated with some cutted and folded angpao and also the foam wrapper for fruits.



We also made an short interview with two foreign tourists on what they think about Georgetown.They like the mix culture in Penang and all the traditional buildings.They will like to have more mural paintings of local artist to express their feeling and don't build anymore western building.Just maintain what we have in Georgetown.






Check point 2 - Cafe 55

We reached Cafe 55 quite early as I had been visit that cafe and know where is the location.After getting the signature from our tutor,we go walking around before moving to our last check point.



A very interesting and cool stuff that a mabuk uncle put it at the side of his motorcycle.My malays group member said that its a kind of engine that can help the motorcyclist to ride more speedy.

The mabuk motorcyclist told us a joke .He said one day he was riding on a motorcycle and he knocked on a car.The police came and asking him why you knocked somebody's car and he said ,''because I am drunk ma.''







Check point 3 - Kaffa Cafe

A very fine dining cafe with many painted wall. Different wall is painted in different style and design. After getting the signature from Dr. Nurul, all of us are exhausted but also get to know more about Georgetown city now.
